The Ladies Behind the Cameras
We’re Rhonda + Brandie: longtime besties, wedding photographers, and the two halves of Cedar & Cove.
For years, we were each doing our own thing behind the camera, building our photography businesses separately while constantly talking about how much fun it would be to join forces.
Then one day, we finally did.
We photographed an inspirational wedding together and throughout the day, the unspoken best-friend ability to know exactly what the other was doing, we had a bit of a “well… obviously we have to keep doing this” moment.
Turns out, we were better together.
So we stopped talking about it, made it official, and Cedar & Cove was born.
Now we get to spend our weekends photographing people wildly in love with our best friend by our side. If you ask us, it’s pretty perfect.
Together, we photograph weddings throughout Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and beyond, blending candid storytelling with editorial imagery, stepping in with direction when you need us and disappearing into the background when you don't.
Brandie
Brandie is the calm in the middle of a wedding day.
Within about five minutes she knows your friends’ names, your mom is chatting with her, and even the camera-shy groom is laughing. She has a way of turning “we’re awkward in photos” into “that was actually really fun.”
Couples trust Brandie quickly because she feels safe to be around. She’s steady, kind, and the person nervous brides naturally gravitate toward about five minutes after meeting her.
Behind the camera she’s thoughtful and intentional, focusing on real emotion instead of stiff posing. If you’re worried about feeling awkward in photos, she’s usually the one who makes you forget the camera is even there.
She’ll prompt just enough to get you interacting naturally, then capture the real reactions, the laughter, the happy tears, the hand squeezes you didn’t realize you did.
Most couples start the day a little nervous around the camera… and by the end, barely notice it’s there.
Rhonda
Rhonda is the one who makes people forget they’re nervous.
She’s the one fixing your veil without you noticing, straightening ties, and gently reminding everyone where they need to be. All while somehow capturing the sweetest moments at the exact right time.
She brings the warmth and the energy to a wedding day, keeping things moving gently, helping you breathe when emotions hit, and knowing exactly when to step in with direction and when to quietly step back.
Rhonda notices everything.
The flower girl twirling when no one’s watching.
Your dad taking a deep breath before walking you down the aisle.
Your grandparents holding hands during the ceremony.
Also important: she will absolutely make sure your dress looks perfect before photos, and she somehow always has exactly what’s needed; a pin, a tissue, or a calming “you’re doing great.”
By the end of the day, most couples say the same thing:
it didn’t feel like having a photographer around, it felt like having a very talented friend there.
Two photographers. Because we refuse to pick a side.
Here’s the thing about weddings: everything happens at the same time!
You’re walking down the aisle. Your person is trying not to cry. Your dad is crying. Your grandma is absolutely losing it. And your best friend is making a face that deserves to be documented forever.
One photographer can’t be everywhere.
Good thing there are two of us!
While one of us captures the moment everyone is watching, the other is looking for the moment no one else noticed.
One gets the kiss. The other gets your mom’s reaction.
One gets the perfectly composed portrait. The other catches you absolutely losing it two seconds later.
One is with you getting ready. The other is across town documenting whatever chaos is happening with your partner.
It’s not about getting twice as many photos.
It’s about getting twice the story.
Two perspectives. Two sets of eyes. Zero moments sacrificed.
And because we’ve been best friends for so long, we have that mildly concerning ability to communicate across a room with one eyebrow.
